Southeastern Louisiana (6-3, 4-1) is tied atop the Southland standings with No. 6 McNeese State and Sam Houston State. The Lions' offense is paced by quarterback Bryan Bennett, who has completed 108-of-205 passes for 1784 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions, while rushing for 605 yards and 13 touchdowns. Running back Kody Sutton has 420 yards and three touchdowns, while backfield mate Xavier Roberson has 364 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Devante Scott leads the Lions with 32 catches, 648 yards and three touchdowns, while Jeff Smiley has 24 catches for 414 yards and three touchdowns.
On defense, linebacker Isiah Corbett has 55 tackles, including 10.5 for losses, 4.5 sacks and three interceptions. Safety Tyler Stoddard leads the Lions with 67 tackles, 3.0 for losses, 1.0 sack and an interception. Cornerback Denzel Thompson has recorded four picks and forced a pair of fumbles.
Last week, HBU fell to Lamar, 72-14, in Beaumont. For the second-straight week, the Huskies will face a team coming off a bye week as Southeastern Louisiana fell to Stephen F. Austin, 27-17, on Oct. 25 in Nacogdoches in its last game.
The Huskies will wrap up the regular season at home when it hosts Sam Houston State on Senior Day and Battle Blue Day Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. at Husky Stadium.
