HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Junior middle blocker 
Madeline Gaffney led HBU in kills as the Huskies fell to Sam Houston State 3-0 (21-25, 21-25, 19-25) Saturday evening.
 
Junior outside hitter 
Bailey Keith also helped the Huskies with 9 kills. Freshman setter 
Kayla Armer had 41 assists for HBU (5-10, 0-3 SLC). Freshman defensive specialist 
Beth Shecterle recorded 14 digs, while junior libero 
Haley Hoffman had 12 digs.  
 
Devene Wells-Gibson recorded 20 kills for the Bearkats. Tayler Gray had 44 assists for Sam Houston. Breanna Homer had 22 digs for the Bearkats, followed by Gray with 12 digs.
 
The Bearkats outblocked the Huskies 8.5-2. HBU outdug Sam Houston 61-56. The Huskies trailed by 3 kills to the Bearkats.
 
The Huskies return to action Tuesday, Oct. 1 at Nicholls State starting at 6:30 p.m. They will then face Abiline Christian at home on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. in Sharp Gym.
