WEST POINT, N.Y. – HBU went toe-to-toe with Army, as the two teams exchanged goals, but in the end, the Huskies scored the game winning goal, as Walter Kromholz scored the clincher 2:45 into the extra session. HBU ran its winning streak to three matches with a 3-2 overtime win over Army Sunday afternoon from Clinton Field.

The goals scored by HBU this afternoon were the first allowed by the Black Knights all season. Entering this afternoon's contest, Army goalkeeper, Winston Boldt, was one of just three keepers in NCAA Division I to not allow a goal so far this season.

HBU scored the match's first goal, as Kyle Herbison scored in the 17th minute. After receiving a long pass from Thilo Borgmann, Herbison shot the ball from 18 yards out, scoring from the right side.

HBU dominated play in the first half, outshooting Army 10-6 and 5-0 in shots on goal. Corner kicks were 6-2 in favor of the Huskies.

All was quiet in the second half until the 78th minute, when there were three goals scored in a span of three minutes. Army got the goal barrage going when Cody Guerry scored, as he dribbled through defenders and scored from 21 yards out.

It took HBU just 24 seconds after Guerry's goal to take a 2-1 lead, as Herbison scored his second goal of the match, assisted by Kristopher Tyrpak. Herbison beat Boldt on the right side, as the shot was slightly deflected off a Black Knight defender.

Army wouldn't back away, though, as the Black Knights tied the match in the 81st minute, as Ethan Spivack headed in a goal.

Army nearly won the match near the end of regulation, but HBU goalkeeper George Kelley came up huge, stopping shots by Spivack and Christian Ollen 26 seconds apart, as the two teams entered overtime.

Two minutes into the extra session, Tobenna Uzo's shot was stopped by Boldt, resulting in a corner kick. Herbison took the corner and it resulted in the game winner by Kromholz, who beat Boldt on the left hand side from eight yards out.

Herbison had a huge day for the Huskies, as he finished with five points, on two goals and one assist. The five points were the most since Tyrpak had a six-point match against Howard on Oct. 24, 2010.

Kelley improved his record to 4-2-0, as he made three saves. Boldt dropped to 5-1-1, as he made seven saves.

HBU (4-2-0) will finally return home for its home opener, when the Huskies welcome Oral Roberts to Sorrels Field on Oct. 1 at 7 pm. The Huskies defeated the Golden Eagles earlier this season in Tulsa, 2-1 in double overtime.
