CONWAY, Ark. – Logan Miller's shot from 25 yards out in the 106th minute lifted Central Arkansas over the HBU men's soccer team, 2-1, in the opening regular season match for both teams Saturday evening from Bill Stephens Stadium.

Both teams entered halftime deadlocked at 0-0, as UCA held a slim 6-4 advantage in shots, while HBU had four corner kicks to UCA's one.

The Huskies broke the scoreless tie, as Tobenna Uzo scored his first collegiate goal in the 55th minute, as he headed the ball into the back of the net from eight yards out. Thilo Borgmann played a corner kick to Kyle Herbison, who served a deep pass to the back post to Walter Kromholz. Kromholz headed a centering pass to Uzo, who headed his first goal.

The Bears knotted the match at 1-1 as Wes Carson scored, assisted by Jaden Hoth in the 77th minute. Hoth fed Carson, who headed the ball home from 13 yards out.

Neither team could score another goal in regulation or the first overtime until Miller's goal in the 106th minute.

HBU outshot UCA, 13-12, and led the Bears in corner kicks, 11-5.

Walter Kromholz led the Huskies with four shots and two shots on goal. George Kelley suffered the loss in goal, making three saves.

Miller led all players with five shots, but his lone shot on goal proved to be the difference maker. Patxi Shortsleeve earned the win between the pipes, making five saves.

HBU (0-1-0) will conclude the road trip at Oral Roberts on Monday at 7 pm.
