HOUSTON – Freshman setter Kayla Armer led the Huskies with 26 assists in their 3-0 (20-25, 20-25, 15-25) fall to Sam Houston State University Thursday evening in Southland Conference volleyball play in Sharp Gym.
 
Junior middle blocker Madeline Gaffney led HBU (13-17, 8-9 SLC) with eight kills. Junior outside hitter Bailey Keith and freshman outside hitter Jessica Wooten each contributed with seven kills. Junior libero Haley Hoffman and freshman defensive specialist Beth Shecterle each led the Huskies with eight digs.  
 
Devene Wells-Gibson led the Bearkats with a match-high of 15 kills. Tayler Gray recorded 36 assists for Sam Houston State. Both Grey and Wells-Gibson also led the Bearkats with nine digs. Claire Kilpatrick had 8 digs for Sam Houston State.
 
The Bearkats outhit the Huskies 42-30. Sam Houston State outdug HBU by just five digs. The Bearkats outblocked the Huskies 6.5-3.
 
The Huskies return to action in their last home game on Saturday, Nov. 16 against Lamar University starting at 1 p.m. in Sharp Gym. The Huskies will be honoring their seniors during this game.
