HBU junior setter Ellie Wipf averaged 8.69 assists and hit .353, totaling 139 assists, 14 kills, 31 digs and 15 blocks in four matches. The New Braunfels, Texas, native hit .500 with five kills, no errors, 41 assists, eight digs and six blocks in Friday’s win over TCU. In the day’s earlier match, she rallied the Huskies to a 3-2 win over Louisiana Tech, with 46 assists, three kills, 11 digs, six blocks and an ace. Wipf had 25 assists, nine digs and a block in Thursday’s loss to North Florida and 27 assists, three digs and two blocks in Tuesday’s setback at Rice. She currently leads the Southland with 8.98 assists per set. Wipf was also named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the third-straight week a Husky has claimed the honor.
