Junior quarterback Bailey Zappe went 41-for-53 for 513 yards and five touchdowns in leading the Huskies to a 53-52 victory on the road against South Dakota Saturday. The Victoria, Texas, native broke his own school records for completions and yards and tied the school record for touchdowns. Zappe ranks second in the nation in completion percentage and passing yards and is tied for third in touchdown passes. For his effort, he was named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week and earned honorable mention for the STATS FCS National Player of the Week.
