Freshman safety Jack Blanco recorded 13 tackles, 9 solo, in his first career start Saturday against 20th-ranked Nicholls. The San Diego, California, native also scooped up a blocked punt and raced 40 yards for a touchdown -- the first block return for a TD in program history. For his efforts, Blanco earned STATS FCS National Freshman Player of the Week honorable mention.
