Senior Jessica Wooten teamed up with junior Aeriel Horton as the Huskies' top tandem went 5-0 to lead HBU to the Southland Showcase title in the regular season finale. The Humble, Texas, native led HBU out of the loser's bracket and forced a second championship match against New Orleans. Wooten and Horton dropped the first set in the deciding match, but stormed back for a three-set victory. They finished the regular season with a 24-6 record and are currently the 10th-ranked pair nationally. For their efforts, Wooten and Horton were named the AVCA/CollegeBeachVB.com National Pair of the Week.
