Junior middle blocker Blair Gillard helped the Huskies to a pair of conference-opening wins on the road at New Orleans and Southeastern Louisiana, averaging 1.50 blocks per set, while adding 2.75 kills per set. In Saturday’s five-set win over SLU, Gillard posted nine blocks and hit .429 with a career-high 17 kills. In Thursday’s sweep of UNO, she had three blocks and five kills with only one error. For the season, Gillard is averaging 1.16 blocks and 2.02 kills per set.
