True freshman safety Jonathan Buffin led HBU defensively with 16 total tackles, 14 of which were solo, and added a pair of pass breakups in Saturday's Homecoming win over Nicholls, 31-21, the first Southland Conference victory for the program. The 14 solo tackles were a new season high for the team, while the 16 total tackles tied Garrett Dolan's mark set at Northern Colorado Sept. 13. After the Huskies regained the lead, 24-21, with 12:41 left in the fourth quarter, Buffin broke up a third-and-five pass with a near-interception to force a punt, then HBU iced the game with a TD on its next possession.
