Penick smashed her own weight throw record, as she threw to a school-record 17.53 meters/57-6.25 Saturday at the UH Indoor Opener. Four times Penick beat her previous school record until ending with the final mark of of 17.53 meters. Her record-setting throw added more than five feet to the new school mark. For her efforts, Penick was named Southland Conference Field Athlete of the Week.
