Wenger was named the MVP of the Houston Marriott Westchase Classic Saturday, leading the Huskies to a 2-1 opening weekend record. After a 3-1 loss to Louisiana to open their season Friday night, the Huskies rattled off two straight wins on Saturday, 3-0 against Nebraska Omaha and a thrilling 3-2 victory over UT-Pan American. Wenger hit .424 with 29 kills and a kill/set ratio of 2.42.
