Gonzalez hit an astounding .727 at the plate, going 8-for-11 with seven RBI, one triple, one home run, six runs scored and one stolen base. In Friday's doubleheader with conference foe Chicago State, Gonzalez went a combined 4-for-6 with a triple, a homer, four RBI and three runs scored. He went on to strike out three in two shutout innings in game two's 8-4 victory, earning the save.
