BARTLESVILLE, Oklahoma - Houston Christian gets ready for the Lady Clerico Invitational, set for Monday, Sept. 15, and Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The field will feature Oral Roberts, UT Rio Grande Valley, Northern Colorado, Drake, UTEP, Abilene Christian, Northern Iowa, Lamar, Southern Mississippi, Texas A&M-Commerce, Oklahoma State, HCU, and Stephen F. Austin.
The Huskies' lineup includes sophomore
Ploy Makmanee (Nonthaburi, Thailand), freshman
Sara Pihlajamaki (Nokia, Finland), freshman
Serena Churchill (Chiangmai, Thailand), sophomore
Alyssa Stewart (Mansfield, Texas), and senior
Hailey Hendershott (Paris, Ontario, Canada).
Houston Christian wrapped up a competitive 2024–25 season with consistent play across 10 tournaments, highlighted by runner-up finishes at the Texas State Invitational and the Southland
Conference Championship. The Huskies posted their lowest team round of the year with a 287 at the SeattleU Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, where they also recorded their best overall tournament score of 895 (+31). Individually, Natcha Makmanee led the team with a 74.9 scoring average across 30 rounds, while
Alyssa Stewart posted a season-low 68 at the Diamante Intercollegiate.
Hailey Hendershott delivered the team's top single round with a 66 at SeattleU.
Play opens tomorrow morning with four Huskies going out in the early wave. At 8:00 a.m. on Hole 10, Hendershott begins alongside golfers from Northern Iowa and UTEP. Stewart follows at 8:10 a.m. from Hole 10, paired with the same schools. Churchill tees off at 8:20 a.m. on Hole 10, while Pihlajamaki rounds out the lineup at 8:30 a.m., also off Hole 10.
Next up on the calendar, HCU will head to Lubbock for the Red Raider Invitational on Sept. 23–24.
