FRISCO, Texas – Seventy-nine HBU student-athletes were named to the Southland Conference Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll, the league office announced Thursday.
"We are very honored and pleased to see so many Southland Conference student-athletes continue to succeed academically," league Commissioner Tom Burnett said. "The Southland and its member institutions are focused on the academic and competitive well-being of these individuals as they work toward graduation and lifelong success."
Sixteen Huskies earned perfect 4.0 GPAs, consisting of cross country's

Garrett Scott,
Langston Tunson and
Greg Vincent; soccer's
Ashley Arnes,
Emma Dooher,
Ashtyn Franks,
Caroline Gillispie,
Megan Rickert and
Alicia Torrez; and volleyball's
Cici Collins,
Kelly Colwell and
Kayla Davenport.
HBU was well-represented on the Southland's Academic All-Conference Teams in the fall, with Tunson,
Andre Walker and
Johnavhon Graham taking football honors; Rickert,
Baylii Bieke and
Sabriah Spencer in soccer; and Davenport in volleyball. Walker, a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, and Rickert each earned the second all-conference nod of their careers. Davenport earned the 11
th Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-America selection in HBU history.
The Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes in the sports of men's cross country, women's cross country, football, soccer and volleyball who maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in the semester of their sport's championship.
