Syfert was an All-American for the Huskies in 2001, a two-time Academic All-Region/District/Conference, the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2001, and the team’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2001. In the 2001 season, Syfert had 81 hits with 21 of them being doubles, and fourteen home runs. He also batted in 60 runs that year. Syfert is in the .300 club with a .370 career batting average. He ranks eleventh in career runs scored with 121, tied for twelfth in career doubles with 37, is tied for ninth in career home runs with 19, and ranks thirteenth in career runs batted in with 113.
