Coleman has the team’s MVP award named after him. He led the team in scoring three times, was the four-time rebounding leader, is in the 1,000 point club, and is part of the 30 point club. Coleman holds the record for most rebounds in a game against McNeese State with 25 in 1971-72. In the 1971-72 season, he had 387 rebounds and averaged 15.5 rebounds per game, which are both the highest in a season. Coleman is second in career points with 1,846 points, seventh in career field goal percentage shooting 56.9%, most rebounds in a career with 1,287, and the highest career rebound average with 13.1 rebounds per game.
